Locanda Don Serafino, Ragusa Ibla, Sicily

“Locanda Don Serafino”, a 4-star hotel in the maze of little streets and baroque churches of Ragusa Ibla, a Unesco World Heritage Site, you can find Locanda Don Serafno, one of the finest restaurants in Sicily and hotel.

Near the ramparts of the lower section of the city, it is housed in the former barn of the palace, under the high vaulted ceilings of exposed stone. One-Michelin-star chef Vincenzo Candiano sources his ingredients exclusively from the island yet draws his inspiration from well beyond the Mediterranean to elevate Sicilian cuisine with his own style. 

Just a few streets away, the rooms of unrivalled charm, and partially carved into the rock, are located in a building from the 19th century. 

Our cuisine is based on local tradition, offering refined and elegantly presented dishes: mackerel with tender courgette leaves and tomato “capuliatu”, carob ravioli stuffed with D.P.O. Ragusano cheese, noodles with carob, tuna roe and cherry tomatoes, rabbit with bacon and Bronte pistachio, yellow-fin tuna on Modica caponata, Ragusano cheese dessert with thyme honey on a puff pastry: these are only some of the specialities suggested by our chef Vincenzo Candiano according to the course of the seasons. 

Le Camere

“Standard double room”

Comfortable room of approximately 18 sqm, with a French balcony and a small bathroom provided with shower. The room is characterized by shabby and chic design, and it is situated on the first floor. It is equipped with Simmons Privilege queen bed, Ortigia amenities, safe, hairdryer, autonomous AC/heating, complimentary WI-FI, TV with Sky, minibar with alcoholic and soft local drinks. 

“Superior double room”

Comfortable room of 24 sqm; it is characterized by floral wallpaper and pastel colors, French balcony and the bathroom is provided with bath/shower and a window. The room is equipped with Simmons Privilege queen bed, Ortigia amenities, safe, hairdryer, autonomous AC/heating, complimentary WI-FI, TV with Sky, minibar with alcoholic and soft local drinks. The room is on the first floor. 

“Junior Suite room”

Wide and comfortable room of about 35 sqm with French balcony and bathroom with window. Each Junior Suite is characterized by a different style: wine theme, journey theme, nature theme or modern design. The rooms are equipped with coffee machine and boiler, a selection of tea and coffee, Simmons Privilege beds, Ortigia amenities, safe, hairdryer, autonomous AC/heating, complimentary WI-FI, TV with Sky, minibar with alcoholic and soft local drinks. The room can be located either on the first floor or in the next building dependence reachable by stair.

“Experience Junior Suite”

Room on the ground floor, carved in the cave, the room of approximately 35 sqm, located in the same building but with an independent access, characterized by no-treated rock walls. The room is situated on the ground floor and accessible through a door/window which faces the street. One Experience Junior Suite has a private bathroom equipped with two washbasins, a bath carved into the rock and a shower. The other one is equipped with a bathroom for disabled people and shower. Both bathrooms have no windows. The rooms are equipped with coffee machine and boiler, a selection of tea and coffee, Simmons Privilege queen bed, Ortigia amenities, safe, hairdryer, autonomous AC/heating, complimentary WI-FI, TV with Sky, minibar with alcoholic and soft local drinks.

This typology of room is not appropriate for the guests who suffer of allergies or respiratory distress. The rooms have a dehumidifier in order to preserve the peculiarity of the structure, which is subject to natural atmospheric factors.

“Luxury Suite”

Open space room of approximately 65 sqm with a private parking and roof garden with outdoor Jacuzzi. The Suite is located in Via Avvocato Giovanni Ottaviano #13 above the restaurant Locanda Don Serafino. You will check-in and have breakfast at the restaurant. Several design elements as Kartell and LAGO, the room has got an independent access reachable by an external staircase.

The room is equipped with coffee machine and boiler, a selection of tea and coffee, Simmons Privilege queen bed, Ortigia amenities, safe, hairdryer, autonomous AC/heating, complimentary WI-FI, TV, minibar with alcoholic and soft local drinks. It has got a carved bath and a separated shower.

This typology of room is not appropriate for the guests with mobility impaired or suffer of allergies, respiratory distress. The rooms have a dehumidifier in order to preserve the peculiarity of the structure, which is subject to natural atmospheric factors.

“Michelin starred Restaurant” 

The scenery is Ibla, Ragusa’s historic center, rich in churches and mansions in the late Sicilian baroque style, and in narrow and charming lanes some of which can be travelled over only on foot. Antonio and Giuseppe.

La Rosa’s restaurant is situated right in the heart of Baroque, in the former stables of an old mansion. The dining halls are the ideal place for different services, such as wine-bar, american bar and cigar list. 

The cuisine includes fish and meat dishes and a vast choice of wines (over 1600 on the list).
