We are in the medieval village of Scheggino, in the province of Perugia, in the heart of Umbria. We are in an ancient territory nestled on the hills of the Valnerina. The village of Scheggino is only 15 minutes from Spoleto, 40 from Norcia and Assisi and 50 from Perugia.

Sleeping in Torre del Nera Albergo diffuso & Spa, is like living a suggestive experience out of time. The 12 fairy-tale rooms that dominate the hill from the tower and tell the history of a medieval past are simply outstanding.

Bright natural atmospheres intertwine inside and outside the walls: a consciously successful mix of stone, wood, and terracotta creates a romantic setting in the 10 Deluxe rooms 

(including one Family room for 4 people and two large rooms for 2), giving an even more intimate atmosphere to the two Comfort rooms. The rooms are all panoramic and unique, furnished with precious fabrics and antique chests that reflect the tradition of hospitality typical of the area, without compromising on modern comforts.

Comfort room

Intimate rooms of about 18 square meters with well-designed environments, painted with natural colors and finely cared for in every detail with precious materials that recall the ancient noble splendor. Bathrooms with showers and chromatic games and the lamps of fine and handcrafted workmanship welcome you with their charm to take you on an evocative journey of luminous atmospheres. One of these bedrooms also has a small balcony and in one of these bedrooms the beds are divisible.

Deluxe room

The Deluxe rooms, measuring approximately 22 square meters, are the perfect choice for those traveling as a couple and looking for a unique experience in Umbrian history and tradition, in a context of contemporary luxury. Rooms with well-designed environments, painted with natural colors and finely cared for in every detail with precious materials that recall the ancient noble splendor. The light that pervades the environment gives energy and pleasantness, bathrooms with showers and chromatic effects and the finely crafted and handcrafted lamps welcome you with their charm to take you on an evocative journey of luminous atmospheres. One of these bedrooms also has a balcony. Two of these rooms have a shower instead of a bidet. All rooms have double beds and cannot be divided, except for two of these.

Deluxe Large room

The Deluxe large rooms represent the best solution for a stay of total relaxation. The 25 m2 rooms are equipped with a small corner used as a sitting room, a double bed and a bright bathroom with shower and light effects created by chromotherapy. Characterized by elegant details and refined and finely restored furniture, these large rooms enhance the typical Umbrian architectural elements in a contemporary way. Here elegance blends harmoniously with authenticity. One of these bedrooms has two balconies. The double bed is not divisible in either room. Both bedrooms have a safe and in one of these there is a sofa bed that can accommodate a child up to 12 years old.

Deluxe Family room

The Family room is the ideal solution for families and can accommodate up to 4 people (maximum two adults and two children, not four adults). About 35 square meters, the room consists of a double bed, a small mezzanine where two single beds are placed and a large bathroom with shower with chromotherapy system. Every detail is finely cared for and is characterized by antique wood finishes and precious floors. Here authenticity finds its expression in a dynamic and functional environment for a relaxing stay. The double bed is divisible. The room has a safe.

The 16 suite/apartments are hidden among the cobbled alleys of the hamlet, with easy access to the central building of Torre del Nera. In this main building, you can benefit from the treatments offered by theTorre del Nera Spa and the service offered by the Torre del Nera Restaurant. The 16 Suites are divided into 5 categories: Standard, Comfort, Superior and Deluxe. Each of them named with the original inhabitants of the village of Scheggino also featuring their family crest. The high ceilings with wooden beams bring modernity to rooms once inhabited by ladies and knights.

Suite in Historic House Standard

Cozy two-room apartments characterized by extreme attention to detail with finely designed furnishings to offer maximum comfort for an unforgettable stay. The warm atmosphere and soft colors of the walls and antique furniture make the environment particularly pleasant and extremely relaxing. Composed of a kitchenette, bathroom with shower, and bedroom with a double bed, all apartments, except one that has a stove, have a functioning wood fireplace. Two of these apartments are accessible only via a staircase.

The Suites in the Historic Residence have a shower instead of a bidet and are not equipped with air conditioning. One of the apartments has a sofa bed to accommodate a child up to 12 years old. Upon your arrival, during winter periods, you will find wood and a fire-starting kit for the fireplace. In three of these apartments, the beds can be separated.

Suite in Historic House Comfort

Delightful one-bedroom apartments with attention to every detail. The furniture is exclusive and tailor-made. Bathrooms with shower and complete with linen and courtesy set, solid wood tables, masonry and fully equipped kitchenettes.

All apartments have a working wood fireplace and upon your arrival, in winter, you will find the wood and the ignition kit for the fireplace. The bedrooms have a double bed and in two of them it is possible to use the sofa bed to accommodate 1 child up to 12 years old. The view is internal to the alleys of the town or external to the valley. The Suites in the Historic Residence have a shower instead of a bidet and are not equipped with air conditioning. In one of these apartments the beds are divisible. Air conditioning is not available in the suites.

Suite in Historic House Superior

Delightful apartments with an elegant and romantic atmosphere, carefully curated in every detail. The exclusive and custom-designed furnishings are also reflected in the spacious double bedrooms with hand-painted walls and wrought iron beds. Bathrooms with showers, complete with linens and courtesy sets, living rooms with wooden beam ceilings, solid wood tables, delightful stone fireplaces (one of these apartments has a stove instead of a fireplace) and sofas or armchairs, fully equipped masonry kitchenettes. One of these apartments has two small balconies and is arranged on two levels. Finally, one of the apartments has a loft with another double bed that can accommodate two more young people and is ideal for families of 4. The suites are not equipped with bidets or air conditioning. Upon your arrival, during winter periods, you will find wood and a fire-starting kit for the fireplace. In two of these apartments, the beds can be separated.

Suite in Historic House Deluxe

Two-bedrooms apartment of refined elegance and sobriety studied in detail with exclusive furnishing accessories. The two-bedrooms apartment consists of two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room with fireplace and a small balcony. It is also possible to open the sofa bed for one or two children up to 12 years old. The Suite in Historic House is equipped with a Bidet in one of the bathrooms. Upon your arrival, in winter, you will find the wood and the ignition kit for the fireplace. In the apartments the beds are divisible. Air conditioning is not available in the suites. One of the two suite has two separate entrances, therefore as well as for families it is also suitable for couples of friends and to access the apartment, it is necessary to walk up a staircase.

Restaurant Locanda del Cavaliere

Restaurant Locanda del Cavaliere delights the most curious palates with the flavors of the territory, such as truffles, the black diamond that finds its ideal expression in this land, along with the typical culinary wonders of Umbria. Umbria is renowned for its long tradition of ancient olive presses, meat processing, and the production of cured meats, as well as for the cultivation of legumes, such as the precious lentils from Castelluccio, among the oldest and most delicious varieties.

The” Torre del Nera Restaurant” welcomes its guests for a full service starting with breakfast and finishing at dinner under the stars. The kitchen team offers a menu full of scents of the Valnerina hills, and the recipes are seasonal: they change with the moon and the seasons. From wild asparagus to flowering zucchini: the chef creates a proposal with an intense flavour that tells the authentic story of Umbria. The King is “the precious Umbrian black”, a truffle with an aromatic scent and dark pulp streaked with white veins; “lo scorzone” lightens the summer tables, which with its delicate flavour accompanies us until autumn. Spontaneous herbs are the basis of a cuisine that has its roots in its territory, expressing the taste of tradition, and of its more contemporary version. Unmissable legume soups and homemade pasta are offered in all forms: we are waiting for you at the table!

Spa Torre del Nera offers an exclusive wellness experience, reserved for guests aged 16 and above. Located within the enchanting medieval fortress, the spa boasts 400 square meters of dedicated relaxation spaces, carved into the rock of the ancient village. The pool area, equipped with heated water (28/32°), hydro-massage station, and waterfall, welcomes guests in reserved spaces along the illuminated pool edge with four braziers, facing bright panoramic windows overlooking the terraced garden of 300 m².

Connected areas of architecture provide access to the Finnish sauna and the spacious Turkish bath with a relaxing effect that stimulates circulation, oxygenating tissues. Emotional showers provide a healthy thermal contrast to the ritual, which includes a rejuvenating break in the relaxation area, with tea corner and Halos salt room.
